Our celebration continues with the launch of Network pláticas, intimate virtual conversations with the goal of providing a supportive network for our members.
On May 15th, 2013, we launched our Network Pláticas on support for aspiring and early career investigators, with Dr. Josie Serrata. Dr. Serrata is the Director of Professional Development for the Latina Researchers Network and Research Manager at Casa Esperanza National Latin@ Network. Dr. Serrata volunteers as the Director of Professional Development for the LRN and serves as the Research Manager for Casa de Esperanza’s National Latin@ Network for Healthy Families and Communities. A Clinical-Community Psychologist, Josie utilizes community based and participant centered approaches in her research. Currently, she spearheads research in the area of evidence based and trauma informed practices for Latina individuals, families and communities. Josie is a Latina of mixed heritage (Panamanian and Mexican-American) from San Antonio, Texas.
