Awards for Latina Researchers Conference Pre-Conference Program
The Latina Researchers Network is pleased to announce a call for applicants for our first Pre-Conference Program, scheduled to take place Thursday April 3, 2014. The Pre-Conference Program aims to support early career faculty members and graduate students interested in academia. 15 faculty members and 15 graduate students will be selected to participate in this unique opportunity. The program includes workshops and networking with successfully tenured faculty members and peers across disciplines. Awardees will also receive a Conference Registration Award to attend the full Latina Researchers Conference.
About the Workshops:
“From graduate student to faculty”: The workshop focuses on strategies for obtaining faculty appointments, including interviewing, preparing for faculty job talks and tips for a competitive curriculum vitae. The course will be three-hours in length, followed by a networking session.
“Strategies for navigating tenure”: The workshop focuses on successful tenure applications and positioning oneself as a competitive faculty appointment candidate. The course will be three-hours in length, followed by a networking session.
