From the Director’s Desk
A month since the U.S. Presidential election, we remain concerned about its aftermath. We offer our solidarity to all who felt, or continue to feel, targeted. Our students, colleagues, communities, and families feel anxiety, dismay, and fear. We have not let these feelings paralyze us. We will not allow this to be our new norm. We must push forward, as we always have. As activist scholars, researchers and evaluators who work to advance the lives of marginalized groups, we must continue to support one another and move together toward a more just world.
As a Network, we remain in even greater support of increasing the pipeline for underrepresented scholars and researchers. We stand with all those in the community, and our members, who fight regularly against racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, misogyny, and homophobia.
We also believe in the importance of critical self-reflection of our identities which have given us socially constructed power. We pledge to use these to empower and speak for those whose voices are silenced.
We are prepared to close 2016 and welcome 2017 con ganas, fuerza y entre familia. We value you. We believe in you. We support you.
