Latinas in Hard to Reach Places

The Latina Researchers Network is heading to Hawaii for the 121st American Psychological Association Convention. The team will be presenting an invited Symposium titled “Latinas in Hard to Reach Places”.
The symposium will address the latest statistics showing that less than a third (23.3%) of Latinas hold management, professional, or related occupations, compared to Asian (47.6%), White (41.5%), and Black (3,3.5%) women (USDL, April 2010). The team will also present lessons learned from the Inaugural Latina Researchers Conference who pursuing professional degrees and engage in a discussion regarding ways to continue to support Latinas in the pipeline.
The symposium is sponsored by the Division of Women in Psychology (Section 3: Concerns of Hispanic Women/Latinas). Other Division/Groups include: 17, 22, 32, 33, 39, 50 and APAGS.
